A Moment in Time

Fifth-grade students stepped into the world of digital design and blended technology and art to craft unique clocks.

Each design was as unique as its creator, featuring everything from Latin numerals to Jets logos to custom symbols that only the artist could truly explain. Once their designs were complete, students watched as the laser cutter cut their creations from plywood. Then came the moment of truth: assembling the clock mechanisms and hoping the hands actually moved. Spoiler alert: they did.

This hands-on project deepened their understanding of how abstract ideas take shape as functional, tangible objects. Their clocks now serve as lasting reminders of their creativity, innovation, and, of course, the value of time well spent.
